You know what they say: tidy home, tidy mind! At GTW Storage, organisation is our middle name! From our stock room to our office, we believe that organisation means efficiency, which is why we have made up a handy list of potential clutter areas around your home that could benefit from being cleared out!

You may have slightly more time on your hands than usual, so we thought you could work through each room of your house, ticking each job off as you go!

Kitchen:

  • Under the sink
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Cupboards
  • Cutlery Draw
  • Fridge
  • Freezer
  • Tupperware drawer

Bathroom:

  • Throw out shampoo and conditioner bottles in the shower
  • Old toiletries you don’t use/have expired
  • Organise medicine cabinet

Wardrobe:

  • Clothes. Clear out anything that doesn’t fit, that has holes in, or stains on. If there’s anything you’ve not worn in a year then it’s time to pass it on.
  • Shoes
  • Underwear and PJ’s
  • Swimwear
  • Accessories
  • Jewellery
  • Clothes hangers
  • Clear out handbags/jeans pockets and throw out receipts and excess rubbish that shouldn’t be in there.

Make up/Beauty:

  • Clear out anything past it’s use-by date. Look on the bottom of make-up pots or the back of tubes to see how long you should have it for. There will be a little illustration with a number inside like 12M or 18M which means you should keep it for that amount of time. Anything you’ve had for longer, get rid of.
  • Minimise hair products and brushes/combs etc.

Linen:

  • Clear out old bedding
  • Clear out old towels
  • Organise linen cupboard into piles of each item for easy access

Miscellaneous items:

  • Clear out and organise bedside table
  • Donate unwanted DVDS
  • Old Magazines
  • Organise Xmas Decorations
  • Donate books you no longer want
  • Clear out and organise draws under your TV or in your coffee table.
  • Put bulbs, batteries, adaptors, chargers, general items like that into labelled boxes.
  • Clear out empty candle jars or clean out and reuse them.
  • Electrical cables and mystery chargers- if you have no idea what they’re for and haven’t needed them in the last year then it’s time to bin them!

If you’ve made your way through our list and are now faced with lots of items you no longer have space for, then look no further than GTW Storage. We are based in Glasgow’s City Centre and offer storage solutions for everyone, whatever size you require.
